Manila - Bus Hijacking in Manila Eight Hostage was Killed : Philippine army commandos shot dead a former policeman who had been holding 15 foreign tourists in a bus in downtown Manila, Monday (08/23/2010). Eight hostages were killed. It was announced by hospital officials.

This incident began when a gunman identified as Rolando Mendoza (55) and is a former police captain was hijacked a tourist bus which includes Hong Kong. Armed with M-16, Mendoza stopped the bus and direct it to cross the road width at the largest park in Manila.

"Bus hijacker who was also the perpetrator was dead. He chooses a firefight with our troops," said Col. Nelson Yabut told journalists. "Captain Mendoza was in the middle aisle in the bus, shot one person. And the next second, we shot Mendoza, "said Nelson.

Officers authorized to look to move one's body from the front of the bus before putting into the vehicle.

Manila police officers, Roderick Mariano, citing the bus drivers who are citizens of the Philippines and save himself from the shot before the police attacked the bus, saying that the perpetrator opened fire on the tourists in Hong Kong.

Mendoza also asked for food and fuel to keep running the AC bus. However, the situation changed after Mendoza threatened to kill the hostages. He delivered it through direct interviews by telephone with a local radio station.
