Pakar Info - Malaysian Swine Flu Patients Increases 25 persen : The number of patients with influenza A ( H1N1 ) in Malaysia in the week between 8 to 14 August rose 25 percent to 64 cases from 51 cases in the previous week .

Director General of Health Tan Sri Dr . Mohd Ismail Merican said , with new cases , the total number of H1N1 cases or the so-called positive swine flu has now become the number 15 584 with 92 people dead .

He said seven new cases with symptoms similar to influenza ( ILI ) have also been reported within the week at the five states, from 13 groups of cases the previous weekend.

Part of that, the number of new patients with ILI who were referred to hospital for treatment in that period fell 8.9 percent to 513 persons, from 563 patients in the previous week , he said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur Thursday .

Dr . Mohd . Ismail said , 360 people with ILI are still being treated in 60 hospitals, including nine private hospitals , all over the country .

" So the amount, only 34 patients, or 9.4 percent of H1N1 cases confirmed through laboratory tests . Three of those cases are now in the care of the Intensive Care Unit , and all had risk factors, " he added. (Kompas.com)
